Not one to do these often but talking to clients and partners really gives you a sense of not only where they are but where we are as a business in terms of our journey down the social media path.

Yesterday three of us, one global tech leader, one tech sales and myself from internal comms spent 4 hours with a client / alliance / competitor talking about their internal comms and ours.  Sharing what we do.

This is the second time I have had the chance to meet with people like this in a year. What it shows me is that we are way ahead of anyone else in many respects technically but the biggest difference is trust.  For sure we complain about needing to ok this with so and so or getting approval for something else but that is because we have to do it so little.  When we do we notice it. For others it is the norm.

Asked how do we control the quality of the writing globaly all I could say was, we trust people. They know what they need to do.

It’s good to be reminded of the choices we get to make our selves.
